Has anyone got a fix for the poor connection of the little bulbs that illuminate the clocks? The Rev counter bulbs went a few weeks back (so I thought) so replaced them with some LEDs which are 100% better. However, those fitted to the Rev counter keep losing their connection. They haven't failed, it's just a crap connection.

Anyone had this and solved it?

Cheers

I tried the led solution kept on having that problem, ended up using 2.3watt bulbs from Halfords
bit brighter and stay connected better

The LED replacements seem ok for dimensions and match the original bulbs quote well...

At the moment I think I'll have to carefully look into the bulb sockets and perhaps bend out the internal contracts a little. It's the only thing I can see to do?

I found that you had to use the more expensive LEDs with the built in resistor, I am guessing that they are a slightly tighter fit than the cheapies

Thanks for that. I think the ones I bought are with the resistor though... Weather permitting, tomorrow I'll try and fiddle with the connectors...

Sure. I'll report back. My old GS did the same but I think by luck rather than design I fixed it... But it then got nicked so not sure if they would have just started misbehaving again?!

the ones I have fitted to mine have now endured 7-8k of touring use and are still working, the cheap ones I originally bought lasted about 400 miles before falling out.

I'll post picture of the ones I fitted. To be honest I'm not sure what distinguishes a good one from a bad one? There's not much to them. There are some that are like a piece of pcb with led soldered on. And then the others which have made some attempt to replicate a bulb and have a moulded plastic housing with the led lens protruding from the end. I have the latter...
