bit of a saga here...
my brakes became very spongy a couple of weeks back, it looked as if the hose was damaged as it fitted to the metal L piece that bolted onto the right side caliper. I refitted the rubber hoses (both the m/c to ABS and the ABS to both calipers) with braided steel over the weekend.
I did the standard bleeding job - hose and bottle on each caliper and pump the fluid through, but im still left with spongy brakes.
Now, question one - do you need to bleed from the ABS junction by the headstock(the manual talks about it), and if so, then how? There's an alan key gromet thing, but i cant work out how you'd actually bleed fluid from there.
Next - is there anywhere else i have to bleed from apart from the calipers and the ABS junction bit by the headstock? There are hoses running the length of the bike, but i'm not really sure whether these are all connected or not?
Answers appreciated, coz i'm loosing patience with the bike: the last month has seen the rear shock go, a fork seal go, the above mentioned brake hose go, an intermittent electrical problem appear which cuts the power to the aux lights, the fork brace finally loose the last of its paint and probably something else that im in denial about
Its a 1150GS (2002 model) btw
