When I collected my bike from SPC the spot lights were not working. They rectified this but after using the spot lights a couple of time the fuse has blown - number 3 - anyone had a similar problem?

Where should I start looking for the short?

Hi Ian. The problem is most likely a blown bulb. Replace both fog light bulbs and you should be OK. Let me know how you get on.
Cheers mate:cool:

Ian,

I had the same problem. My dealer took the wiring inside the lamps apart, put it back together and taped all the wires up and it cured it. The live connector had a bit of bare wire near the spade grip, we reckon it might have been that causing a short. It was a bastard to track the fault down, but I've done about 10k miles since with no snags....

Spots

Ian,

Same as MikeO

My spots innards where touching..hence the dodgy clock as well,
do as mike says ..things should b ok then :)

Thanks Mike

Did as you suggested and I could see the problem with the wire inside the right hand fog earthing out. It appears that insulation tape has fixed the problem - we will see over the next week.

Thanks for the advice.

how many more of us with the same problem??

Had my fog lamps less than a day before they blew. Sawbridgeworth found the fault in the wiring in the left lamp which had the same problem affect on my clock and my power sockets.

Been fine since they repaired it, but last week the 15A fuse blew. Wierd?? Sign of impending doom (ie more dosh to cough up?)?
