Hi, I’m looking to fit some aux lights to my 1200. I’m in two minds as to have them on a separate switch or connected to my high beam. I’m not in the market for super expensive jobbies like Daneli, more a decent LED set up that’s going to do the job.
What’s everyone else done on their 12s

Mine are on permanently through the hexezcan. It creates a triangle of light which lights up the road and more importantly for cars in front of you to see you. My tuppence worth is on all the time

Mine are on all the time but slightly dimmer... unless i put full beam on obviously or flash my lights
mine are Denali though.

There are some nice cheap LED spots around now though.

I use my BMW auxiliary lights fitted with hids as running lights as they give out a flat beam. I've chucked some Osram led spots on via a relay connected to the high beam but have a switch so I choose when they come on, ie not in town at night etc. Odd thing is since I fitted them I've not been out in the dark!! The new led headlight you've ordered will give loads of light compared to standard.

I've fitted a pair of these. There's a few choices of combinations to buy including one set withe wiring loom. They mounted straight onto the same mounting points in the GSA crashbars as the oe spots. Nice bright led light output.

I bought some cheap ones from ebay about 10 years ago and they're still working fine. I have used a 3 position switch with some relays. The lights can be slaved to high beam, on by themselves, or off altogether. I reckon the whole set-up was less than £50. There is no need to buy fancy expensive fuse/break out boxes, but people do as they're scared of and don't understand the can-bus.

I bought ones similar to this, they have three settings that you change between by flicking switch on and off. They remain on the last setting so come on and off with ignition. They are so low power that I spliced them into the GPS connector so if any issues I just loose GPS. Works fine I’ve done 1000miles with them and had them on about 2 months.
