SpyBot locks up

Can anyone suggest why SpyBot won't run on my PC? It'll scan maybe 2000 files then freezes.

I run AdAware every couple of days and have McAfee security centre and ZoneAlarm running from Start Up.

I've tried uninstalling and downloading (from different sites) / reinstalling it a couple of times, but no joy. Could there be another bit of software running which is stopping it?

I've used it on a previous (Me not XP) PC with no problems, the only difference on my new one is the McAfee suite which I wouldn't expect to interfere.

I have seen a glitch where adaware and spybot come into contention and each yupsets the other. This has caused occasional lock ups on my machine but I cured these by downloading, reinstalling and reupdating spybot.

Is it always locking up at the same point - you may have a bit of disk corruption and a quick bit of error checking might help. Right click the drive in my computer, "tools", and error checking is there. If it's a C: drive then the machine will need to restart to do it.
