Does anyone have any problems with the front brake squealing - the pads seem fine.

What could the cause be?

It seems to happen more in cold or wet conditions.

Dust build up and the pad moving (vibrating when brake applied). Remove pads clean them up with a soft clean brush, use fine file to chamfer around edges (just break the edge) apply a small amount of brake paste or copperslip to the metal back of the pad, take care not to get any on pad material, refit. Keep fingers off the pad material as much as poss. Should cure it.

I had problem with the rear brake. I applied those thin 3M rubber things made for brake pads and has had no sound at all since then.

What kind of 3M pads did you use, and where did you stick them? My rear brake squeals like a pig, either with worn out BMW pads, or with brand new Braking pads.

They are black, thin and heat resistant. Comes in sheets approx 10x10cm and you cut them the the size you want with a pair of siccors.

They are specially made for brakes.
