So the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics show at Stafford will soon be upon us. I did think I wouldn't bother with another show this year but I might wander up to this one.
The Bonhams auction seems to have a lot bikes, mainly Japanese with a nice collection of Hondas and a few Brits. Lot 366 is a one owner zero milage Norton Rotary classic with a guide of £9000-£12000. I find it strange anyone can own a M/C since 1988 and not have ridden at all. It will be interesting to see what the prices are like: I thought the prices for a lot of the junk in this year's Weston Super Mare show were mental: a total derelict Sunbeam S7 with no paper work and unoriginal engine giving the highest bidder about 10p change from £5000 after buyers premium and VAT being a good example. A lot of the M/Cs at that auction were in poor condition and/or unoriginal but fetched silly money imho
Anyone else intending to go along to the show next weekend?

Yup i`ll be there on the Sunday . I have always fancied a Rotary :drool, but suspect it well sell for nearer 12k than 9k

I have it on good authority that the Norton needs about £2k spending on it to make it roadworthy. Good road going Classic rotaries come up occasionally for a lot less then £12k.
I expect the bike at aucion will probably go to a collector who values the zero mileage and won't be ridden for the next 25 years.

Near where i live Padiham they have an annual get together of norton rotary . Commanders. Typically they get 10 to 15. Must be a fair proportion of the ones on the road in the north west. Always a good show with enthusiastic bikes happy to talk about their bikes

Just been today , big on Japenese, the Dales trial demos with glistening Ariels and Ajs's was excellent. Prices were high on most bikes. Didnt seem as busy as last Oct

If anyone has any pics to share I'd love to see them please.
