This has probably been mentioned before on the site but I am thinking about changing my “2000” 1150GS for the Adventure model. Prob looking at spending £4K ish + against a new one or looking around for a mint second hand one.

Million-dollar question! is the Adventure worth over 3K to 4K more than my
“00” GS? Can anybody help re going from a standard GS to an Adventure, pro’s, con’s etc. has anybody regretted moving to an Adv model.

Just had my second test ride on the new 1200 and it just does not “float my boat”
Although a dam fine machine.

Any thoughts appreciated

TD, Spending 4000 quid on top of the trade in sounds like a lot of dosh to me. Why not keep the money in the bank and be happy with what you've got.
What will the adv do for you that the 1150 won't. Not a lot is the answer. I've dreamt aout upgrading my 1994 bike too. But it goes well, is reliable and fun. so why bother changing.

You've just entered the twilight zone a bike that your happy with but you reckon the grass is greeener on the other side. The Adv is no better than what you've got already but it does look cooler. YAWN.

By a GPS or a set of Luggage and keep the dosh, be happy with what you have already....

My tuppence worth...

GS 1150 Aven' V' GS1100

I own a GS1150 Aven and my friend as the STD GS 1100, on ride outs we swap bikes. The Gs Aven is a fine machine, so too is the STD GS 1100. the amount of money you would have to part with to up grade to a 1150 Aven wouldn't warrant the slite differants between the bikes. take off the rose coloured glasses and save you money.
