The grommet holder thing in my clutch lever has decided to go walkies. I'm stranded! Anyone in Clontarf area have something to help me bodge this to get home!!!???

The ends of brake cables can haver the identical barrel nipple...you may be lucky and find the part the barrel goes into :nenau

Thanks fanum. I'm home safe and sound. I'll pop into a bicycle shop later.
 
A washer or a coin with a slot cut into it would do the job in an emergency as well......wind in the adjuster so you have max adjustment, cut a slot that the wire will fit into , slot it in above the hole then adjust to tight so the lever works :)

With the right sized washer in fact, you wouldn't even need to cut a slot.....you could turn the barrel so the round end faces the hole in the washer, pull it through with your leatherman and flip it back so it lies flat IYSWIM.

Washers, odds and ends, nuts n bolts, a bit of paracord and some wire, a fuse holder and some cable ties.......a matchbox sized tin and a bit of lateral thinking and you can often sort problems :)
