Question.......
I know a few of you have crash bars and Stanton head guards.
I wondered do you NEED crash bars or do Stantons do the job. I like the fact that they weigh next to nothing compared to bars.
So far I have not taken the bike off road in any serious way, as in rock covered hellholes but I like fords, fields and medium dirt tracks as a form of fun.
But mostly its on road and thats where the protecting element needs to be focused.

Thanks in advance.

IMHO

I think they compliment each other. I have both as a form of insurance. I am hoping that the crash bars will take the brunt of a fall or slide, the stantons to give added protection in rocky areas with the obvious protection of just the tappet covers (a fat oil leak is a show stopper even if cheap to replace.) I would not want my stantons to take the full brunt of any impact in case the retaining bolts shear or cause other damage to the head.

Note: blessedly I have not had to put this theory to the test, and could be talking utter bollox. For me it is the comfort factor / insurance factor that provides peace of mind when I do take the bike off the beaten track. (please don't disabuse me of this......runs of and hides)

 :D
