Guys….i must be getting senile.

What is the standard behavior when starting the GS in first with clutch pulled in. My bike starts with the side stand up but does not start with it deployed.

Is this as the factory intended?. I have vague memories of being able to start a GS with the side stand down in first as long as the clutch is pulled in

Mind you I had a 1150 and a twincam before this one so might be confusing bikes

My F800GSA won't start with the side stand down if it's in first gear - which I suppose makes sense!

I've never known any bike that will allow you to start the engine with the side stand out, unless it's in neutral. Riding off with the side stand out could get very ugly the first time you tip into a left hand turn. Makes me wince just thinking about it!

Ha! you must be younger than the average Tosser!
Wait for the long list of responses from old gits!
