Have to say I agree with the report, got one for my birthday, fitted it on my 06 GSA, it is a much better tone than the standard horn but not particularly loud.
Try the NAUTILUS. THAT'S loud.

I have the Magnum on my Pan and it is much louder than the stock item. Can we wired directly so it's easy to fit.
On my Varadero, I have the nautilus - it's louder still
. Easy to fit but needs a relay.
Don't try it in the garage!

I've run Magnums in all of my bikes .
I found the stock wiring on the Deauville was so weedy that it dropped a fair bit of voltage, and hence the horn was somewhat weedy and quite. But (re)wiring it through a relay and properly spec'd wire (25A cable and not bellwire) brought it up a fair bit in level. Another one (so you get a high and a low tone) makes it easier for people to figure out where the noise is coming from - but you'll definately need a relay.
I'm now on a Nautilus - it's very much louder than the stock horn, I think - but again it needs a relay.
'HOWTO' guides on wiring a relay for your horn are plentiful on the internet...

+ 1 on that! The Magnum is better than the orginal, but the Nautilus is the one if you want a serious horn.
A single Magnum scores because (1) it fits in place of the original, (2) it can be hooked up to the original wires, and (3) sounds a bit louder than the original horn
But it's not a patch on a pair of Fiamms I fitted on a /5 25 years ago.
But you do need a relay. And you do need to find the space.
I can hardly believe I added twin trumpet air horns with compressor to my old Honda 200 in a previous life. Complete with change over switch so I could Toot-Toot gently with the original horn, and BLAST LOUDLY with the air horns as my mood took me.
