We came at it from eastern side and stopped in Glorenza for the night, there is a nice campsite there and it is a stunning village. With a fortified wall and lovely square with a hotel / bar serving fantastic beer. We did it coming down from UK to go to Millie Miglia and wanted to tick off Stelvio, certainly harder doing it this way. Again as Rasher suggests we got near to it so he could get up there before it became too busy.

Got call in Bormio that evening to say id got it.

Have a look at the you tube video of the corner where the Italian bloke plonks himself, some good lessons there.
Have a clean run at each corner is the biggest one I’ve seen, loads of low speed drops due to bunching and lack of momentum.
It’s defo a must do, enjoy
