sticky downchange

My 1100GS has developed an intermittent very stiff downchange , mainly going 5 to 4 or 4 to 3.
Upchange is nice and smooth.
The clutch is adjusted to spec at both end and I have lubed the linkages.
Is this a symptom of something expensive about to happen?

I should add that when I got home tonight I did a gearbox oil change. No lumps of metal evident, just a metallic sludge around the magnetic drain plug.

No I haven`t. Is that likely to make a difference?

The fact it is intermittent suggest to me that it probably isn`t a lever issue. Could be wrong though!

It's the common cause on 1150s

Disconnect the linkage and try it.

Lots of threads on here about it and particular bits to clean and lube. One of them was mine! I still get the problem occasionally (I've lubed it twice in the last couple of months) but if I blip the throttle before trying again it frees it up.
