fella`s, you may recall a recent thread about some of us getting our clocks stolen? Although I haven`t had mine nicked (yet) the cheek of the little b*stards to steal stuff we work our asses off to afford made me decide to look at a solution.

Sadly its a long time coming (the thread was `live` weeks ago mefinks) and I am sincerely sorry if any of us has had our clocks stolen in the meantime. In my defence I`m tooooo bloody busy for my own good and I struggle to keep people happy with just run of the mill gear they ask me to make but this really did touch a nerve - I struggle with the fekkin sh*te who thieve - so i thought I would look into it as soon as I could.

Here is the very first prototype - I want to develop it to a point where it could be of use to the ones amongst us who could do with a solution - apparently the clocks are only held on by a couple of easily opened clips (ffs) and cost hundreds to replace.

I`ve gone for some sort of balance between a huge fekking bracket and something far too insubstantial to stop them so I know this idea won`t suit everyone - some of us will want fort Knox and some will think thats waaaay over the top. It simply fits around the clocks and attached to a couple of fastening points on the inside of the upper screen bracket assy. Its a sod to fit and IMHO might make the thieving scum give up trying to nick the clocks as you need tools to remove it. Naturally if they want the clocks they will have them but I`ll bet my house that this may even make them think `f*ck it, lets go thieve something easier`

The idea is simple - the bracket stops the clocks from being pulled out of the cockpit.

Currently 2mm stainless (but would be available in black if I ever decided to sell them/enough of us were interested)

So, any input fella`s?

I think that BMW should be buying this design from you and recalling all bikes for a retrofit:augie

Nice work:thumb

thanks fella - positive comments helps me look beyond the time needed to come up with something for the benefit of us all. I also rely on positive criticism too, I don`t always know the answer but lads on the forum do help!

Can`t see BMW doing anything like this though - like others I sometimes think people lose sight of the important `to us` stuff and making the clocks easy to pinch just seems daft to me!

If it works as good as it looks, people should be beating a path to your door to buy them...... :thumb

Are the WC Clocks easy to nick????????????

I thought it was the 2004-2013 12GS/GSA that was the problem of the clock nicker

Are you making them for earlier bikes too??

My understanding too but, hey, why would WBM want to change an already succesful design

Not a 12 owner, but I appreciate a good bit of design...and that is one :)

Looks very nice Mr H :clap

Now.......(always have to throw a complication at you ;) ) how about incorporating a ram ball into the design for peeps to hang things on?

Inspired by our very own Michel who made the famous and hugely popular Speedo mounted ram ring :)
(The cut out on the left of it is to allow the knurled clock reset dial to be spun)

if you can design one for the older GS then i would be looking to buy one.
great idea well done.:beerjug:

Looks good Mark, thanks for taking the time to design something that will help keep my clocks on my bike.

When and where can I order one from please?

Will it fit a 1200gs twin cam (2010)

thanks pal but no - it won`t fit ya twin cam and they are quite a way from being for sale - I`m going as fast as I can, not from commercial gain (honest, but I know they will possibly sell)) but to offer something the lads can use to hang onto their clocks

Very, very nice. If you make one to fit the twin cam I'll have one off you as well!
