Just seen this twitter feed from Westminster Metropolitan Police

We've had three BMW 1200 GS motorbikes stolen this afternoon around #CavendishSquare area. If you've seen anything suspicious please call us

So the police are arranging for bikes to be stolen?

Do they break them up and put them on flee bay, or stick em in a van bound for distant lands?

The only deterrent is to chop the thieving scrotes hands off like they do in arabic countries.

Trouble is they would claim disability because they can't steal or work.

My garage door is well secured and each bike has two locks on. What a way to live....

Im lucky enough to shove my GSA in a garage in Belgravia at the moment, but might be moving office Jan. eek! I was worried about the clocks or headlight being nicked....now I'm worried about the whole thing!

Westminister Thieves ?

Someone had a go at mine a month ago in St John's Wood.
Chain 'em to the floor boys !
And the bikes.x

Mine was stolen from Sutton SM2 on Wed or Thurs last week from inside my garage.

I only had a cheap Oxford lock & bendy chain through the back wheel.
It's in a bay chained to a ground anchor with an Almax/Squire combo today.
Normally it's parked in our secure car park, but when we have events I have to leave it in the street.
What lock have you? Or maybe they were disturbed?

Sorry to hear about that !! bastards.

It doesn't get your bike back but.. When I wrote off my GSA this year the insurance said the same, keep pushing them because in the end I got them to agree that they were not mods as they came with the bike, also don't agree to their first offer, do you own research of replacement bikes, they don't have to offer you old for new but they do have to give you a fair market value, not dealer or trade value. This is so that you can purchase the same bike in the same condition as the one that was stolen. I told them that I'd wright to the insurance ombudsman, but in the end it was the loss-asser being a dick rather than the insurance company. I got close to £3k more than their first offer. Good luck.

Agree 100% with this. If you added them then they are mods, if they are factory fitted or were purchased with the bike from new you stand a good chance of getting the insurance company to cough up. Get a copy of the original order form for the bike from BMW and submit it to them. Also submit any recent pics you have of your bike (to demonstrate condition) along with some ads for bikes of similar/same spec, mileage, age etc. That should help bump up their "offer".
