Howdy,

A quick question for anyone here who has imported a bike or car from the north since the system changed last September.
My Dad bought a nice little A class Merc from a private seller near Newry there last week. He phoned up the NCT centre and they said to him that he needs a receipt from the seller, along with all the other paperwork,in order to register it.
Now being a private sale he didn't get a receipt, (I suppose he should have asked for one),so my question is will a hand written piece of paper with the relevant details, price etc. do the job????

Cheers

Pat

I am led to belive that it does but don't have that as been concrete.
But sure is'nt anything worth a try. Its not as if a private seller would put contact details so just type up something that looks ligit on the PC and put a signiture on it.

Yeah,a very low wage and pension thanks to all the taxes and levy's which have been imposed.

If only everyone had to pay the correct amount of taxes for donations received in CD cases.:augie

Piss Off.....
We pay for our Pension and are not allowed to opt out and now thanks to idiots like you being sucked into believing the crap espoused by The Irish Press and ISme and the likes, I am having to pay almost 200 euro month more for it.
The public service did not cause our current economic problems....it was Fianna Fail and their cronies in the banks.

Just to qualify your statement. if you were to pay the market rate to fund your pension over your working life it would cost you €1.2m :augie so be grateful :augie and not so testy over paying a levy..... remember its a levy not the actual cost of the pension you are paying.

I do understand that Luke, I'm testy about comments like "typical public service" and the attitude that goes with it.
I think i'll go and have a little lie down now, I think I got a touch of vertigo up on that soap box.....:comfort

Unbelieveable , Me an mey Pal Luke ,,

And sure this wee gem above just highlights the Irish Public service
Where the truth dosent suit , Tell a wee Lie..
Well MR Public Servant , its wee Lies just like yours , that got us where
we are now.
Isnt it good to know , though the truth is always around the Corner ,
Even if it is in the form of Luke Scot !.

What sort of arrogant person are you?
I have told no lies whatsoever.
I have stated that I take exception to comments like "typical civil servants" and you just go and repeat it along with slander.

"Well MR Public Servant , its wee Lies just like yours , that got us where
we are now."

This statement makes no sense at all....

I apologise to Pat for taking this thread Off Topic but I couldn't let this crap from Civil to go unanswered.
It won't happen again.

Civil,

it takes a fair bit to get me riled - but you're doing a grand job.
Those that actually got us in the mire love to see remarks such as yours, for it does exactly what they want;

Divide and conquer.

~~
another public servant.

Civil,,
Your an idiot.. you have allowed yourself to be brainwashed be the politicians and the media. All Civil and Public servants pay for their pensions from their pay packets every week. And that is the way it has always been..
The only difference is that now they pay , super annuation ( pension). And Pension levy ( another Pension) and full prsi like everyone else (another Pension) Now comes the best stuff.. after paying three times for three pensions a Civil or Public servant can only get one pension.
Civil and Public servants are also prohibited from having a private pension..
So You should get all the facts before you go shooting your big loud mouth off..

Philip, you obviously have some Fianna Fail in your blood because you are as IGNORANT and as ARROGANT as they are.

Another public servant

I didn't join the public service for the so called guaranteed job and pension. I joined it to serve the public. That's what I'll be doing on Christmas eve night and Christmas night this year and on New Year's eve night. Don't forget when idiots like Civil get themselves in the shit, it's public servants like me who respond to get them out of it.

Cop yourselves on, this divide and conquer crap has been going on long enough. Just as soon as the morons in the Dail manage to completely **** up my pension, guess who's next? And it's not just Fianna Fail. Fine Gael are all on to privatise Healthcare.

Workers need to stick together, Public or Private. Once you are in the PAYE net you are keeping this country afloat and getting nothing for it. I guess that probably excludes CIVIL.

Wow what a thread!

Just to say, my Dad got his little A class re-registered with no probs. He had to make an appointment, but got one within a few days. He was in and out in about 20 minutes.
They took the hand written receipt grand.
Just over 900 euro to bring it in, for an 03 1.7 litre car.

Now no more fighting or i'll turn this car around and go home!!!!!
:P ;)
