STOP and GO PLUG!

Last weekend somewhere North of Enniskillen, Francis came to a halt saying his 1200GSA was moaning about loss of tyre pressure.
"We" tried the usual repair kit to no avail, but young Lamble had a repair kit called "Stop and Go". Bl**dy marvelous - fixed the puncture in 15 minutes easily and enable Francis to ride the next 500 miles or so back to home.

I thoroughly recommend this bit of kit - it takes the fear out of having a puncture. That and a 12v mini compressor.

I ordered off flea bay Tuesday and it arrived today. £22 VERY well spent IMHO.

Coat all the metal parts up with ACF5O or WD40 if you intend carrying it on the bike. My one started to rust a little from getting a tad damp.

used mine on my mates bike today. It had a slow puncture and was at home.

I reamed out the hole, when extracting the reamer, a piece of metal came out. We assumed it was a nail that caused the puncture.

Fitted mushroom into tyre, pulled the tang out by two inches. Then without pulling the mushroom, I cut off the excess.

Two hours later on his drive, he heard the mushroom being blown out of the tyre and the ensuing deflation of the tyre.

The puncture was near the centre of the nearly new tyre.

Thoughts anyone?

Takes a couple of goes sometimes, I use a dog turd if it does not seal on the second go.

Never had one blown out and have fitted dozens with work. Maybe two inches is too much to pull the plug back out......

he had a new tyre fitted. The item that caused the puncture had splayed the steel belting, so that the plug would not seal correctly.

My new Bridgestone got a 2" screw through it today. Stop and go got me home, but losing air still.

Well, set of on my GS this morning and 150yds up the road I had a big red triangle flashing and a tyre icon lit up. Checked rear tyre and down to 25psi.

Tried the stop n Go for the first time to plug a NERG nail hole, worked spot on and 160mls later was still holding

For £20 odd quid it's probably worth getting your tyre properly plugged, but if you don't ..... your stop 'n go plug will probably last the life of the tyre ..

Now where's the fun in having all these new fangled warning systems?

Last Friday, 80mph and I felt the front go flat closing the throttle approaching an island. Half an hour later we were on our way having patched the tube.

A bit of warning would have been nice as during the moment I was fairly sure I was going to kissing the Tarmac.

Yea, hope the plug sees out this year(yes bike in garage for the winter), and either new tyre or bike for Spring 2015. I was looking at a lowered GS anyway, not just because of the puncture
