Noticed it a while ago, went around check for loose fixings, didn't go away.
Yesterday, tightened up crashbar.
Checked the nuts that clamp the exhaust pipes, a little slack.
For some reason, I then tapped the L/H exhaust. BINGO.
Over the years the left-hand silencer must have moved inwards.
The very long lower engine mounting bolt, it was fractionally clear of the exhaust. Hacksaw 2mm off its length, in situ.
The piece that I cut off has a "polished" face where it was vibrating against the exhaust.
Seemed a better option than unclamping the exhaust and silencer.
Sorted.

My son needed a helicoil insert for his car. Went on his bike. When he got to speak to the assistant he was was the insert for a motor guzzi. Apparently they sell lots of them for that brand of bike. I did have a guzzi V85tt. Never had that problem. Did find a few loose bolts. JJH

It was only noticeable when coming off the throttle at over 5,000 repm
