Has the paralever "tension/torque/reaction arm thingy" been off, allowing the swing arm/rear hub to drop right down?
;)

However, can you give me a little advice about the Ohlins settings ?

er, yes, but it's a custom built shock with extra compression damping shims & 160Nm spring :D

one up: no preload & rebound set as standard (12 clicks out? can't remember)

one of the few bits bit i've never fiddled with, but previous owner/bmw may have. rather doubt it.

Changing paralever bearings, greasing driveshaft etc....routine maintenance.

Can be caused by wrong suspension adjustment?

the mark you have is from changing the shock, nothing more sinister than that, my adventure before i had the shock out had no marks as your pic, if you remove the bottom fixing bolt, then the top one the shock drops down , ( its bloody heavy to hold with one hand) and due to the then very steep swing arm angle clouts and makes a mark.

are you sure that this isnt a wind up thread :doh

BMW finally contacted me.There's nothing wrong they said, enjoy the bike....Wish I could... :spitfire
Don't know what else to do or what to think.I'll just keep an eye on the problem and hope that it will just....stops. :bow
