Has anyone encountered problems with the fabric on Streetguard's changing colour from Black to a light Turd Brown?

This initially started to show on the upper forearms on my jacket, but this has now affected all panels which use the same material on both the jacket and trousers. From what I can see it looks like the effect of sun bleaching. I'm well miffed as the kit is probably one of the most expensive on the market. The most sunshine it has seen is summer weekends in the UK, and everything else about it is fully functional. However, it now just looks pretty stupid.

Any ideas on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

Take it back to the dealer. Explain that this is a known fault. I did, twice. :blast

After the replacement SG2 also discoloured, I now have an SG3 as a foc replacement.

Excellent customer service from BVM. And well done BMW for standing by its name. :thumb2

Sometimes things go wrong, and then it is the quality of response that tells you about the values of the business.

Thanks for confirming that it is a known fault. My dealer was in Cardiff and has finished with the franchise. Can you tell me how long you had your SG2 before it started to go Brown?

I'm very interested to learn this as my SG2 suit bought less than 2 years ago has begun to show the fading described.
It has only been used at weekends in normal conditions.
Back to the dealer it goes and its very helpful to have this information before I make the complaint.
Thanks guys,

Slick Nick

Patches began to appear after about a year, and, like Topsy, just grew.

Same happened with my SG2 that I bought 11 months ago. BMW changed it for the SG3 without quibble, as the SG2 was out of production.

The arms of my jacket turned brown.
-And so what? It was still waterproof and did the job.

...but when the zippers, jacket & trouser, broke, I asked to get it fixed.
-But they gave me a new suit! :thumb2

:) Liv.

I had the 'fade'. Doesn't bother me too much. More concerned about the velcro not working.
