I got a pair of the above around 10 months ago. However, the zip which joins with the corresponding piece on the streetguard jacket has broken, as a result of which, I am unable to join the jacket and trousers together. Quite apart from the safety aspect (of making a two piece into a nearly one piece), the jacket and trouser combination no longer keeps me dry.

My question is this.

I've heard that "zip failures" are no longer covered by product warranty (which I think is 12 months), such that if I want to fix this, I must do this for myself. Quite apart from being unhappy at this "warranty exclusion" on an expensive piece of kit, I've a concern that any work which I do will invalidate any waterproofness warranty - irrespective of the location of the repair.

For openers, has anyone any thoughts or experience on the warranty point?

Cheers

Have you asked BMW?

I don't see how a zip cannot be covered just after 10 months of use.

If it isn't then go to your local dry cleaner and get them to replace it for you. Just did it with my HG jacktet as it was out of warranty.

John. bmw replaced my tourguard jacket under warranty when the zip puller broke and they could not fix it ;). Bring it back to them. I think there is a two year warranty on clothes. Anyway you never use the bike or the gear since your in that flash car :bow:bow with your moth so you must be getting fat :potkettle.
