Might be worth short peeps investigating Wilbers or Hyperpro replacment shocks and then sourcing the lowered stands from the BMW option which would give you better suspension and what is probably the correct height stands. - This comment is for a standard GS though - a GSA might need more thought - also the BMW low option was for the '08 but i'd expect the stands to fit en earlier model - this might need confirming though

Try a Kahedo low seat from Touratech. Lower than the dreadful 'seat of torture' and more comfy than the standard seat... plus they come with natty piping to match the colour of your bike!

Definitely worth a shot, but could result in a less comfortable riding position having to stretch up to the bars and bending the knees more.
