A friend wanted a stubby for his R1150gs but couldn't find any for sale. The chap on here (sorry can't remember your name) has stopped doing them. So I have had 5 made in stainless steel. If anyone wants one they are £25 each +P&P.

call me on 07850 84455three or PM me.

WHAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU I JUST TRIED ONE ON A 1200 AND WOW WAS IT LOUD. MY EARS ARE BLEEDING.:aidan

Oh well that puts a downer on that but if people want an exhaust that will give more space for panniers on the 1200s I will have a look in the next couple of weeks and see if anything can be done.

We made up a pipe for my 1100 today and it works very well, its lighter, but I'm afried to say take up as much space as the old one (well not under the bike but where the panniers are).

Err! Late in the discussion I know, but fitting the stubby to the 1200 is as you have found not going to work as simply as once thought.

The 1200 has two Kats, one in the Y piece and another in the silencer. Hence the reason for all the noise. An added problem to this is that the 1200 runs very hot and a stubby could cause issues with burnt boots and panniers etc. It will also mess up the running of the bike because of the lack of back pressure through the exhaust, so would need remapping if its possible to do so.

If your wanting to do something like the stubby so you can fit a larger left hand pannier. There is a company that makes an under seat exhaust that has two outlets just above the number plate. Nice looking bit of kit too :thumb2
Unfortunately I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it :o

Hope this helps.

Oh er just read this thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130406 Why did Bryan stop making/selling them? Has anyone had a problem with them on their bike? Did aliens abduct him?

The one we put on my friends 1150 gs works very well.

Pete

Pete, Bryan didn't stop making them.. I did... no problems with the pipes, just a problem with the supplier....

Forget the 1200 ... Its not worth the hassle ;)
