Gear box

Why not take the box out your self? save alot of dosh get a clymer manual and you'll soon sort it out plenty of help on here. Always do the clutch it's a lot of work to take out the box and then you'll be sure the clutch is ok if you ever taye a gearbox out of a car I would always replace the clutch. Good luck don't be scared of it big hammer solves it all. Or phone Mr S. take it down there on a trailer still be cheaper than your local dealer. Good luck,
dave gs.

Tonight i emptied the oil to see if there were any metal bits floating around and yes there was metal filings and a pieace about 1mm by 15mm came out so its up to me now to decide what to do,will reread the haynes and decide it is just that i have never tackled anything mechanical b/4

I`ll pm you the number of guy who is specialist. I`ll be sending my 1100 gearbox to him to cure the dreaded 3rd and 5th jump

It`s really worth having a chat with him before you commit to BuMW. You`ll have to remove the box and ship it to him but it will be a whole lot cheaper and I`m sure there will be some kind tosser who may come and help you for a cup of tea and Welsh cakes:thumb

No dealer in Cardiff, thats Mike!

Hi, there is no BMW dealer in Cardiff since Rydale closed last year. You must have spoken to Mike Pearce at Cardiff Motorrad. Mike knows these bikes inside out and charges less than half the BMW hourly rate. You could not put your bike in more capable hands. He uses genuine BMW parts and spent 4 years working for BMW before setting up on his own last year when BMW deserted Wales. Look in the Wales section for testimonials extolling his abilities. Highly recommended.:thumb2

It was Mike i spoke with and he really sounded a genuine guy,and i have just had 2 phone calls at home saying he is brilliant and will do everything thats needed
