In Spain you should find a plentiful supply of Olive oil:thumb2:thumb2

If same as my 2004............

If it's the same as my 2004 model you'll need a 10mm and a 13mm socket or spanner.

As for the oil, anything with a top spec of 50 grade (20 / 50 or 5 / 50 synthetic).

Hope this helps,

Keith.

I concur....and a 16 for the drain plug.

You'll also need a filter removal tool otherwise it will be very difficult to remove the filter, a strap wrench won't fit as the filter is too slim. Apologies if this is sucking eggs.....

If it's the DOHC engine then BMW recommend Castrol 1 racing 10w-50 Fully synthetic, but obviously any 10w-50 Fully synthetic will be fine :thumb2 Failing that Castrol Act Evo 20w-50.

Trying to find 10w-50 is harder than finding gold dust.

The bike john is picking up will be an early 1200 .

They sometimes have those funny torq bolts on the front sump mounts.

Having just done a mid service oil and filter change on Saturday, on my 08 GSA I also needed two sizes of Tork sockets (I don't know the sizes but they were the two smallest I have - the same as for the handlebar clamps). I also needed to loosen off the front bashplate bracket as I couldn't get the filter out - this is an allen bolt, 8 or 9mm I think.
