Anyone had the old size tyres on the new lc gs adventure

I have 2 sets of tyres, tkc's and karoo,

I know the new gsa has slightly wider wheels but i don't see a reason why they wont go on, Just wandering if it will play havock with the traction control..

Cheers

It's not the traction control I'd be worried about. I don't know the width of the rim but if it's too wide it will change the charticits of the tyre on the rim. I'd check the width and take it from there. Why not sell them and use the money for the correct tyre? JJH

I think the karoos actually look to wide for the old rims, so not really a problem with that, i was more worried if the traction control as they are slightly taller profile

If the new rims are wider the tyre profile will change, which in turn will change the contact patch and also the handling.

Agreed!

Yes - its a stupid question! buy the correct rubber & sell the other tyres on its crazy to mess with factory spec & your insurance will be void if you do fit the wrong size tyres

Check this thread....new sized wheel all together... :D

I did ask a question about the ABS system gettin' confused.
I could understand that this feature calibrates itself every time you start moving after a fresh power-on...meaning that it checks the relation between wheel revs in a non slip situation...
Would all this apply to the traction control?....no idea!

As I said earlier I cannot see it affecting the traction control BUT why not try it? Let us know how you get on. JJH

I have run a set of TK90s from a air cooled on my watercooled without any problems both on and off road.
