Just a heads up to those who have bikes in warranty. We are aware of the engine corrosion issues etc etc with many a thread on here. On the subframe the is a drain hole near the lower mounting point to the main frame. You wouldn't see it unless you bend down or lie underneath the bike. I noticed corrosion in this area when I were cleaning off the Dynax UC anti corrosion coating :blast I gave it earlier this year. Obviously missed that part of the frame. This has been raised with my local dealer and PUMA send to the mother ship. Don't have pics of the affected area.

Just an update. Frame was replaced and the BMW adviser advised me to put some anti corrosion treatment on that area and in the frame to keep corrosion at bay. Will do sir. All done with no hassle and once again enjoyed the quiet efficiency of my local. Bike now out of warranty.

I suggest you dip the whole thing in zinc then, it will be interesting if any goodwill replacements are carried out by BMW.

NAh, It will probably end up on the used market in the future.
