Hello all, I would like to uprate my Sunbeam S7 from 6-12v. Can members please advise how I go about this, what parts I need to change and where I might obtain those new 12v parts? Thanks.
Why are you wanting to do that? If it’s lighting related first try fitting LED bulbs, much lower current draw and brighter lights. Cheaper option too . Did that with my BSA A10 and I’m happy to stay at 6V now.

This would be my question too. I own 3 of these, all 6V standard, never an issue with them? As mentioned here you can get reasonably good 6V LED lights if night riding is an issue.
Should you feel determined to change it to 12V it’s pretty easy and cheap. You will need the following.
Battery (obviously)
12V regulator and coil
Bulbs
Ammeter
All these can be purchased from anywhere really, you can use Rob at Stewart Engineering, but for these generic parts I would use someone like Paul Goff at Norbsa.
The standard dynamo is capable of delivering 17 plus Volts so will be OK.
