I went yesterday but not on the bike. I've not been before, a very interesting and tranquil place but nowhere to get a brew etc. If going on a bike be aware that the Causeway road can be very slippery due to mud/sand. And check the tide times or you could spend more time there than you'd want!

We went about four years ago, literally like stepping back in time 40/50 years. Certainly a different pace of life

I did a lot of water rescue boat training there a few years ago. Depending on the tides it was either the Lune estuary or the Humber. Lovely place but very much old school .

It first came to my attention when recently used as a filming location for the ITV drama series 'The Bay'. Nearest I've been to it is Glasson Dock the other side of the River Lune. Looking at it on the map it's well off the beaten track. Thanks for the heads up about no brew specs, must pack my own gaz stove if I venture over there.

Ended up there when i borrowed an Africa Twin 1000 when they first came out from Honda Morecambe (what happened to them.?) Definitely a place with an aura and like a previous post mentioned, heavily featured in The Bay series. Worth a detour.

The church has recently been gifted to the community and they are currently in the process of turning it into a visitors centre which will have refreshments and toilet facilities. :thumb (There are currently toilets next to the car park.)

There will also be a photographic exhibition featuring the work of John Walker. https://www.sunderlandpoint.net/johnwalker

It's about time, I've been there a few times over the years and thought it would be a nice place for a pub or cafe. I went to deliver a car there one day and got cut off by the tide. Luckily the customer provided me and my oppo with a brew and a sandwich while we sunbathed waiting for the tide to recede. It was better than working for a living:D
I also got cut off by the tide at Glasson dock, on the rare occasion the spring tide covers the road.
