Supermoto ADV

OK - now I may get "shot" for this but the Adv isn't the right basis for a Supermoto - the big tank throws it off balance. Supermoto concept is, as your other helpful critics have indicated, a "stripped down" look.

As the Irishman said to the lost tourist, I wouldn't start from here unless you're prepare to butcher your nice Adv.

Right, here we go ..................

1. Swap for smaller standard GS tank if possible, or better still, buy a GS stabdard tank and get it sprayed matt black or a 2-tone silver.

2. Go for a single black seat. Lose that bloody awful Adv seat.

3. Lose those wheels ......... or respray in black.... what the hell were you thinking.

4. keep the beak.

5. Put the black cylinder heads on ......... but strictly no crashbars.

6. Remove silver front plate, spray black and replace.

7. Get one of those funky German GS screen plates or a cut down screen in black or smoke.

......... complete with a 300 word essay by Sunday and lets review when you've done.

I disagree. I think the 17" front wheel & larger tank give it a lower stance at the front, which looks good IMO...

Agreed...

Better in black...

I prefer the more sveldt effect of the original beak...

Black's always faster & therefore better... :D

Unnecessary gilding of the lily.... ;) but the front mudguard's got to be sorted.

I love the supermoto GS.... Nice one Casey :thumb

WOW!!! Some nice? comments, NOT

People,

Hmm what can I say. Still you got to be different!
I cant say to much in my defence but paint was done as a lets see job? only fitted wheels to allow more life from TKC's as doing a lot or road work. Still at least I use the GS for what it was meant for. Getting dirty, having fun, winning the odd enduro, and generaly riding it hard.

I cant say much re wheels and at the time of fitting I was 50/50 on the look. When you lot can ride a BIG GS propper then maybe you can change it how you see fit as well.

Mudguard is a pain but can stay, screen is needed as being 6'7" leads to a lot of wind buffeting.

Having said all that maybe I should do the off road run on these wheels just to show you all how its done? Any takers

Though I suppose I did ask for it!!

That's the funniest thread I've read for ages.

BTW, anyone who doesn't know Bushboy can tell him their opinions to his face when they meet him. More laughs to be had!

You tell'em Casey!

:thumb 6'7" of top bloke and he can ride! & I echo Sorebums's comment!! that should be worth a laugh :D

I know you're bigger than me...

... and most likely a MUCH better rider, but I've noticed a typo... So not only does your supermoto ADV have grim coloured wheels, but your signature needs work too! :rob :D

hint: I, too, have had too many bikes, but would like to get another two. :beerjug:

Sum thing like that, perhaps

is a nice idea. The telelever from 1150R looks tasty :thumb

Nice bikes. I wonder where they got the lights for the black bike ? I've wanted a set of lights for my 1150's for a long time but never saw them anywhere.

The black one is the Touratech ReVamp conversion, inc. the lights. It's qute a sheet loads of £££ (around 3000euros if i remember) per set, but i guess worth it for plastic-lickers typo guys, who want their bike some hi-tec feeling and more dynamic design.

Cheers, Margus :beerjug:
