I had a similar problem on my 02 GSA single plug. Tried various remedies. the one which cured my problem was Steptoe's mod. Now the bike is running better,no surging and feels much smoother.

Hi DollyRocket, things aren't perfect with my bike yet but as it turned out, most of my problems were due to a split fuel pipe inside the tank (bodged repair from a previous owner I guess).

Things aren't perfect yet but a huge improvement on what it was.

I bought a Techlusion R259 which didnt cure things (before I found the split pipe :spitfire ) which says to keep the original Cat Code plug which is still in place. Still to try the Steptoe mod as I think it's best suited to a bike with a y-piece and aftermarket can.
(I'm also just glad I've got a usable bike right now)

Good luck :thumb

Bike went into the dealer last week (SPC) to have a look at this problem. According to their diagnostics system the Hall Pickup sensor had failed which they duly replaced. The bike felt much better for about 5 miles but it appears to have slipped back into the same problem.

I am not sure if it is just me, but there is a noticable lack of power between 3500 and 5000 rpm. - especially noticable in 6th when rolling ón to overtake something on the motorway.

It is due a service in 1800 miles so i will see if i can live with it until then and get it sorted. I will try the steptoe modification as previously suggested - I think i will get it dyno'd to compare it with other stock bikes to get a reality check.
