Surging at 3000rpm

My 1100Gs is surging at around 3000rpm. It's not bad but noticeable and wondered if anyone has experienced the same. It's more noticeable in 3rd & 4th gears. A slight increase or decrease in the revs stops it but in 3rd at 3k rpm it's about the speed you need to be at in built up areas and if I change up to 4th it feels like it needs to be in 3rd or increase the speed which will take me over the limit!

I have been told that it could be the injectors. Can anyone confirm this.

Bikes done about 35k and has been regularly serviced, TB balanced by Steptoe last year.

I have just spent a few hours cleaning my injectors, TPS voltage check and rebalancing the injectors on my 1100GS.

Many BM twins and especially the 11/1150 require quite regular balance checks. they are only aircooled twins and if they are out the can surge or be a bit of a kangaroo at low speeds, espec the 11's. Buy some gauges and search for TB balancing. There is so many internet articles about this that it could fill a small library!!

Anything by Steptoe or similar on this site is good advice. Give it a go or take it back to him!

Throttle Position Sensor situated on the nearside injector. Usually set and then left alone etc Once St Eptoe is sober again after Lumb Farm, take it back to him

As you are very close to a service interval at 36k it is most likely something that will be adjusted at that service. I'd probably live with the problem until it was convenient to get the bike back to Steptoe.

As others say, it's most likely the TPS needing a tweak, which is a routine service item. You certainly need to get all of the 36k adjustments done before suspecting a faulty component.
