I have an 04 1200GS, that in its first year needed a FPC, REAR DRIVE, BATTERY, AND INJECTOR, I was not all that happy when my biking holifay out East Europe got cut short by BMW faults.
This year I took my wife into europe for the first time on the bike, including the Dolomities, in total we did 2300 miles in two weeks, rode in temps upto 44degrees, never cleaned it, checked the oil or the tyres, it was fully loaded up with cases and a massive stuff sack and bed rolls instead of the top box, it returned 180 miles to every tankful, of my spirited riding and the only thing that went wrong was a front side light bulb blew.
Rode some excellent rodes in ITALY, get to Canazei if you can, good campsite, good hotels and eats and amazing rodes, new best rode is the DURAN pass, a small not very busy tight and twisty peice of heaven.
I do realise that I have now cursed myself by singing my bikes praises and fully expect a series of errors now to develop thereby driving me bonkers again.
Loved it already planning next year, and even the wife is talking about riding a bike.
