Do I get the impression that more experienced off roaders would not recommend this route to an R12GS with an inexperienced off roader (me).

Only its what I got it for (partly) and i need to start somewhere. :D

There'll be lots of people to pick you up Dahoum.......just don't try it without engine bars fitted.

Are you going to bring your bike in the van? It's a long way to ride it!

The meeting point is in the car park at the top of the hill &searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf]here.

The waypoint appears to be;

N51 13.965 W0 30.411

The weather forecast appears to be dry but pretty cold - bring a rucksack with spare clothing. You might also want to consider packing a flask with a hot drink.

You will probably get wet too (if Blue Sweeper takes us on his usual route).

It'll be a hoot!

Greg

Well assuming the newly fitted (finally  ) f&r pads work, I've got Sunday free now so i'll be there........can I blag a ride round with a trailer please anyone?

You old wuss, Oates!

Most of the north London posse will be riding down there and it's further for us!

I take it that you will all be on road legal bikes, properly taxed, insured and MOT'd. If not please don't go as illegal use is likely to get us all banned in the end

I`m just waiting for my log book, bike has insurance but tax ran out in MARCH, had to send out a form to DVLA.

Its a 03 bike just never regestered.

How do I stand if pulled by the POLICE ?

Take all the documents you have (inc reciepts showing that you've only just got it etc) and in the incredibly unlikely event of a stop, it'd have to be a pig of a plod to make anything of it, particularly as everyone will be in pukka gear and all legit bikes.

FWIW, from day 1 I've not had a tax disc on the GS and I've never had a problem (it resides in my jacket pocket)

Legally you get 14 days grace anyway, but if you can show your interntions are good by having all the cocuments you can, it's very unlikely you'll have any bother Steve.
