The route will likely be a mixture of the loop from Guildford out to Hindehead with either some of Roy's (Bluesweeper) lanes thrown in or a little bit of route finding out towards Alton.

Pace with be mid-pace for Pogo's, fast for TKC'd GS's/HP's/SE's mad enough to join :D

Based on interest this will be a 10.00 til 4.00'ish ride-out with a liesurely lunch somewhere in the middle - it being Xmas time and all :thumb

Ignore the Vote bit...

Guys,

I'm really sorry but my wonderful wife has just told be the I can;t come out to play on the Sunday as we now have some sort of family do to go to. I've tried to get out of it but have lost a few brownie points in doing so:eek:

I now plan to head out on the Saturday (29th) same place same time for those that can re-negotiate their passes.

Hope to see as many of you as possible.

regards

Simon

think it got a height restriction into carpark but there must be space on the road towards the shops or towards the bricklayers arms but you'll be missing yer wheels.:augie when you get back.

There is, or was last time I was there, a Height restriction on the car park. There is plenty of parking near by if you can't get the van in.

And I think the van will be safe - I lived there for 5 years and never had a problem:aidan

Greg

arse

too much beer last night. wont make it round the m25 in time.

have a good day gents

Got in 45 minutes ago and plunged into a very hot bath with lashings of Radox muscle soak. Great day out thanks to Simon:thumb2 lots of different terrain - and after the recent rains the ground was very claggy to say the least.

There were some heroes/maniacs on GS's who I really felt sorry for watching them from my position as sweeper at the rear. Boy they must have been a handful to wrestle those bikes in the mud.

Lo iq was the only serious casualty of the day. He dropped his bike on a very slippery hill and had the misfortune to land sideways onto a tree stump giving him a real kick in the ribs. He called it a day at that point and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he had to go to A&E. cracked ribs perhaps? Let us know how you are please.

All in all a long but worthwhile day, the lunch stop was good wasn't it Greg?

No pics were taken today, but one of the guys had a camera on his helmet.............ooo err missus:mmmm so maybe he'll post up his recordings in due course.

Once again, thanks Simon, you played a blinder:thumb

I just got back from A+E after getting an ear bending from the wife to go when I showed the bruise when I got in...:augie

I had a good day and sheer misfortune to slip and hit the only pointy tree trunk on that section. Thank heavens I threw on my armadillo back plate on this morning cos it could have been lots worse:augie and I would have looked even more of a knob. Never ridden on sand before that's interesting:eek: to be avoided like the plague or just need more space so when you get it wrong you don't stuff into all the protected heather:augie

Also my wilbers shock has to come off and be replaced with a custom build it's too tall and the front end need to come up so all in all good research trip.

Thanks thanks for a good day out:thumb hope to meeting up again. and many thanks for helping pick the bike up.

Oh yeah when I walked the bike back down the hill cos of all the on and off with the ignition the battery was really struggling so after a sit down and gathering of thoughts I had the joys of bump starting the HP so I've got a cracked rib and a heart attack to boot. Bonus!

Then got lost was going to head on the road section to meet up with the guys but went wrong should have taken the GPS :blast ended up in Farnham:nenau

there you go I'm now gonna have a some Volterol:thumb have a bath and go to bed:thumb

Simon

Today was a truly excellent day!

:clap:clap:clap

I hope Karl got back home in one piece.

Greg

Edit: I've just read his post above.

Sorry I missed this chaps sounded like a good day

will have to get my transport issues sorted out (think I am going to have to buy a van )

it all hurts like hell now, wife's wetting herself watching me struggle about the house.

neck, side, ribs, arm, hip, knee and teeth all hurts.:blast

not sure about that either but they hurt. Only bit that's not hurting is me hair whats left of it.

Glad to hear thay you're not too badly hurt and that the wife is being as sympathetic as a woman can be ("why can't a woman be more like a man...."):D

Any man (or woman for that matter) that is willing to try and wrestle a GS style machine through lanes in the condition they where today is a hero (or a dam fool:eek:) in my book.... I have just one word of advice... KTM:thumb

Thanks for the company on Saturday, it was a blast; thank god I didn't wreck Desert Rat's bike (thanks for the loan Simon - it is now shiney and clean again); thanks to Tony for the extra lanes he showed us; hope you all have a great New Year celebration; look forward to the next ride next year.

Cheers

Simon

Thanks for a great day out, i'd only done 50% of the lanes before, the rest where fantastic, especially the last one.

Have just had a look at the DVD footage Mike took, most of it is a bit wobbly, but ther eis a great bit where one of the guys on a 650GS (not sure who it was) drops his bike in the drink only to pick it up and drop it back in the other way! If we can figure out how to add footage to this site we will (may need your help Greg).

Impressed with the guys on the bigger bikes, glad to hear that the one on the HP2 is OK. I'm still washing the mud of my kit from giving one of you a push though!

I'm going to arrange a day out in Kent for late February, so keep your eye out for the thread, nothing quite as challenging as Saturday, but plenty of mud and slippery chalk.

Cheers

Martin
