I have recently bought a 2018 1200GS Rallye. It had 800 miles when I bought it, and is about a year old. It now has 2000 miles on it and I've owned it about 6 weeks.
My question is; Is it possible to cause damage to the suspension system (Dynamic ESA) by moving the bike around whilst seated with the ignition off?
The reason I ask is that I regularly drop down a double height kerb into my property when arriving home after switching off the ignition. I notice that the suspension stiffens up a lot once the ignition is off, and I am wondering if dropping off the kerb like that has somehow damaged the damping, as the rear suspension seems a lot more bouncy now, than it did, of course it may just be me.
The system still stiffens up on Dynamic setting, but on Road or Enduro, if I bounce the rear of the bike down it will top out before settling back to level.
Can anyone tell me if that is normal please.
Apart from that it's a great machine and I am very happy to be riding it, as you can tell from the mileage. I went from a 2011 1200GS to this and I'm glad I did.
Thanks in advance.
