Hi all,
Given you can get supermoto wheels for the 650GS Dakar and HP2, in addition to their standard enduro wheels, I've been wondering if standard or replacement suspension can cope with these different tasks (big range of adjustment). In other words, is it possible to have a good all-round bike that can easily go from a strong road-bias supermoto mode to enduro/off-road touring mode just by changing wheels and suspension settings?
Although I've mentioned the Dakar and HP2 as examples, I'm waiting on the new rumoured BMW singles and F800GS to be revealed. After watching Charlie and Ewan struggle with their heavy 1150 Adventures, I'm hoping the new models will provide a better compromise between weight and power, especially the 800GS. Ideally, I'd love a bike that I can have proper road tyres on most of the time for twisty track fun or road touring and then swap to dual-purpose or enduro tyres to do some light off-road touring (e.g. trans American trip).
Is it possible, or do you need to swap the suspension as well as the wheels?
Any thoughts/experience/opinions appreciated.
