Susspension knock maybe

Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this !
When i set off from my drive accelerating so the weight is off the front susspension i get a knocking noise which sounds like the front susspension might be bottoming out not on compresion but on full extension, also on an uneven surface like a rough road i get the same noise but it sounds like it could be from the front or rear, my 2004 1200gs as always done it since ive owned it about a year, rest of the time on normal roads it feels perfect, any ideas

The nut connecting the front Ball joint to the telelever is loose, retorque it.

Thanks Welshman but checked the nut and it is o.k, any other ideas anyone !
