My replacement Tank will be back from the painters on Friday and so with a few days in hand. I need to know if there are any parts I might need in addition to what I already have.

Innards will be swapped over. (fuel pump and other gubbins) as will the fuel cap.

I have a new fuel filter and a new Fuel tank access panel O-ring.

Is there anything else? (apart from the obvious: petrol)

Obviously I want to avoid doing this swap and then finding that some £1 part needs replacing/renewing and then having to wait for it to arrive.

cheers

Probs sucking eggs :blagblah and just because I broke mine last week :blast.... you may want to change the plastic male quick release valves for metal ones.......?

While you've got the filler off, drill a couple of 6mm holes an inch or so down to allow it to breath and fill up quicker when getting that last bit of fuel in.

Thats already on my little 'to do' list. :thumb

Perfect time to do the external filter mod. :thumb2

No.. I won't be doing that. with a change over every 24,000 miles it seems to me a waste of time.

plus 'himself' did it and then decided to revert back. And I won't argue with that.

Tanks

If your fitting an adventure tank don't for get the link pipe across between the tank lobes you'll need a two extra QD xconnectors for this other wise no probs. Don't bopther with the filter difficauld to protect it and ain a bad job after 35000 miles anyway, good move bigger tank you'll never runout and it keeps the wind off your legs better.

No dave - i gave up on the idea of finding an adventure tank at a reasonable price and managed to acquire a zero mile 1150 tank for very little money. So I'm happy with that. what you've never had you never miss. I'm unlikely to go anywhere where fuel stops are more than a 200 or so miles apart to be honest

I am doing the alternative, I am looking at a "slight ding" adventure tank, less damage than my current standard tank :augie then gonna fix the standard tank back to pristine and maybe then fix the ADV tank, but I think I need a thorn bush scratched one otherwise I might get a bit tender about it :D
