Correct, but not BMW engineersThis whole problem is caused by engineers.
Actually they did.... but when things were changed that they had no control over, it made things a little 'sticky'Firstly they did not engineer the clutch to do its job.

Oh no, your not suggesting BMW are not accountable for their subcontractors.......just responsible. You cannot delegate accountability.Correct, but not BMW engineers

Not at all as that isn't what I saidOh no, your not suggesting BMW are not accountable for their subcontractors....
Engineer - you know it's not allowed to say positive things about new GS models - it just upsets those with the older models
The fact that all previous GS models have had their own problems - even the legendary 1150's with dodgy gearbox output bearings, and stupid Servo ABS to name but two - is of course to be disregarded
As to my 2014 model - so far the gear box has been fine and makes less noise going into 1st than my Scrambler or my previous KTM Superduke![]()
You are a marked man now for suggesting that the LC might be better than the 1150 Really?
Utter twaddle...........go on, provide some justification for that.......I bet yhou can't @blast

Just look back over all the problems posted about the 1150 and considering how few were sold compared with the 1200 then their reliability record is dreadful - that justification is at least as good as that given by the 1200 haters![]()
Apart from a bit of clutch drag, hence the clonk into 1st gear my gearbox seems to be getting sweeter and sweeter as time goes on - after 11,000 miles all my gear changes are really pretty slick both going up and down the box - the gearbox on my LC is probably now sweeter and more precise and far less 'sloppy' and agricultural than either of my previous air-cooled 1200s - seems to me that these bikes take a while to break inI wonder how it will fare over the next 20,000 miles or so before I replace it for the next new model?

So if you don't like it, bite me.

You remind me of a cult leader , I have a letter from the dealer that my bike has an issue . Mechanic is telling me that all the bikes in the fleet have the same issue. You claim that everybody else hear little voices in their head , can't ride or some other bullshit
You have a good one, excellent , as a " whiner and whinger and old lady " I like the bike and I recon once the issue is resolved it would make the best bike I had.
I bet if BMW would sell dildos you would happily fuck yourself and claim is the best anal you ever had![]()

I too, must be imagining the ongoing saga with my bike and the worst clutch/gearbox I have ever had the displeasure of using.
I also, must be imagining the warranty repair / fix that BMW have done for me (still horrendous after the fix!!!)...
Also, the compensation I received and the apology from them, and the other GS riders I have met at both Rainbow and Pidcock getting their "fix" done on their machines too....
I don't know about anals
.Bizarre, you seem to have your head so far up your arse , I thought you must be an expert .
My pardon.
Ref. your request about my test ride etc. I had my say in an other thread , regurgitating the same story is getting boring. I shall let you know when the problem is fixed ( or not ), remember I do not slag the bike, but as a package is not finished .
What gets on my left nipple is the minority satisfied owners ( good luck for them ) that can't/will not accept that there is an issue...

...Why does this problem appear to be overwhelmingly limited to this site and the UK?
