Have got powder coated frame back ( see r80 restyle thread) and am bolting bits back on...

Even though coaters blanked off the threads for the swing arm pivots, one of them is not keen to accept its pivot.

Has anyone got the right size tap for cleaning out the threads?

Wiling to lend? Will be returned to you with a nice bottle of plonk...:beerjug:

Would you know what size it is ?????????

Hi Sean, if I remember correctly, the thread in the frame goes right through to the other side, if that is the case, could you try entering the pivot from the inside side of the thread? I'm thinking that the far end of the thread might be fresh and undamaged.

If anyone knows the correct size, i will have a look for a tap tomorrow at work . . . . !

Sean,

I've got the correct tap if you need to borrow one. Darn sarf in the smoke for the rest of this week though. The taps a 20mm 1.5 pitch if I remember correctly. The same size and pitch as a conduit tap if you know a sparks.

Thanks for ideas and offers gents.:beerjug:

Found somewhere locally that sells the right size - only £8. A lot less than I was expecting. :)

Did the job.

It's m20 x 1.5 for future ref.

Will post some new pics to the restyle thread tomorrow maybe

Edited: oh, rob beat me to it while I was typing...
