Hello folks,
I've never been impressed with the BMW alarm system on the bike or the confusing instructions on how to set it up. One remote control unit is fine but the spare went U/S a while ago. I've had a replacement unit sent from the dealers and cannot get it to register or synchronise with my alarm. I've tried the "new battery" synchronising as in the handbook. No joy. I've then tried "registering a new remote" as described in the handbook. No joy at all. Trying to identify myself by using the "code number" doesn't make any LED on the bike flash at all, as it says it should in the handbook. A visit to the dealers would be a 4 hour trip that I can really do without for something that ought to be so easily resolved.
I am unimpressed in the extreme.....
Does anyone have similar experience and a solution to the problem?
