The bluetooth on my System 5 helmet fails to switch on. Phoned the dealers (Rainbow) and they told me that there a serious problems with the switches to these helmets. They have now have them 'on hold'. I asked if I could replace the helmet and was told that these were 'on hold' and that I could not have a new one. They said that they have no idea when this situation is going to be resolved. They said that they would give me my money back.

So I have a choice. I stick with the System 5 and have no communication (a very expensive and slightly uncomfortable helmet) or I go and get a different model.

Are there any other bluetooth flip up helmets that people could recommend.

TIA :(

HI Gramps :D

Not sure about other bluetooth helmets but if your S5 is uncomfortable due it being too tight on your forehead then this seems to be a common problem and one which i suffered. If this is the case then it apparently "gives" a bit in time but i compacted the foam slightly by pressing it with my thumb and it's now UCH more comfy :thumb

I believe autocom are working on bluetooth coms but whether this includes a universal bluetooth headset I'm not sure.

I got my both my bluetooth helmets replaced on warranty just before Christmas. Then the wifes failed. Took it back to Rainbow and they offered me the money, but Steve sorted it out and yes it was a problem with the buttons. All working fine now.

I had loads of problems with my bluetooth last year, I loved the helmet, so the dealer simply replaced it with a non bluetooth version. When BMW eventually get their act together with the bluetooth, I'll buy the seperate kit and fit it myself. it'll save ££££££s as well.
I find my Sony earphones work ace in the helmet, act as wired headphones and everything goes through my phone now!
