Its not broken. You have changed the keyboard settings and need to change them back.

^^^^^^ That makes more sense, than the keys being seperated from tablet. :D

Thanks guys......... I have looked at the settings on the tablet and can't see anything obvious, I definitely haven't changed any settings my self that could have caused this issue

It's a bit of a mystery

The setting is on the keyboard. Search on yt or Google on how to return it.

Your iPad's keyboard has likely switched to the Split Keyboard feature, which can happen accidentally. To fix it, tap and hold the keyboard button in the bottom right corner and select "Merge" to bring the keyboard back together

Understanding the Split Keyboard Issue

When your iPad's keyboard splits into two halves, it usually means the Split Keyboard feature has been activated. This can happen accidentally, especially if you are using the device in a way that encourages gestures or if the setting is enabled in the keyboard options.

How to Fix the Split Keyboard

You can easily merge the split keyboard back to its normal state by following these steps:

Method 1: Using the Keyboard Button

  1. Open any app that requires the keyboard, like Notes or Safari.
  2. Locate the keyboard button in the bottom right corner of the keyboard.
  3. Tap and hold the keyboard button.
  4. Select "Merge" from the menu that appears.

Method 2: Using Gestures

  1. Place two fingers on either half of the split keyboard.
  2. Drag both halves toward the center of the screen.
  3. Release your fingers, and the keyboard will return to its normal layout.

Preventing Future Issues

To avoid the keyboard splitting again, you can disable the Split Keyboard feature in your settings:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Select Keyboard.
  4. Turn off the Split Keyboard option.
By following these steps, you should be able to restore your iPad's keyboard to its full functionality and prevent it from splitting unexpectedly in the future.

Hope this fixes it.

Excellent,....thank you, the "split keyboard" option was activated and is now deactivated...

Thanks for your reply and advice

I have no idea why this feature was active as its not something I have consciously done .....thanks again

Glad you got it fixed, at first I thought it was a Hardware issue, and gave instructions how to fix that, glad you did not open up your Tab seal, as best leave that for those with experience, doubt if I would go there either.

If you have set as deactivated by default, doubt if it put up that error again.

Just blame fat fingers......I do! :D

Oh yes the good old fat finger reasoning ...I've relied on that before :ROFLMAO:

It does remain a mystery as to how the split screen occurred as I have never before been aware of such a facilities existence...still can't really see what benefit it provides

You did it by accident. How do you think I knew what it was?

The split keyboard layout on Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 models is a customization option in Samsung Keyboard settings to make typing easier with thumbs on larger screens. It allows you to type with two separate halves of the keyboard on the left and right sides of the screen.
Some experienced typists use this method. Possibly you hit a command prompt button (2+ keys at once) by mistake, easily done.
