Given that I dont live in the above country why is my 2610 showing it as my home,Ive tried to set the home waypoint but after following the instructions(press and hold menu button to enter route menu) i find that i have no waypoint option on the screen thereby unable to set home, further to that the screen when in map mode shows a large pink line from taiwan to my present location, does anyone have any idea what im doing wrong and how to sort it out
thanks for any gratefully received advice

It's in Taiwan because that's probably where it was made. Leave it outside, switched on, for a good 15 minutes & it should sort itself out. Next time you switch on, even if you move the unit, it should 'find itself' much quicker.

Mike, I know you are struggling with it, & I am no expert but I would suggest you perceiver rather than take a huge loss on selling it, I noticed you talked about ebay and I watched a Brand Spanker UK version go for £623 last week most have sold between late 500's to £750 on ebay.

Once you get used to it you will be glad you did not sell it.

There are a lot of people on here who can help, post up and see if someone local to you who has a 2610 would mind helping out with some personal instruction, once your pointed in the right direction I reckon you will get the hang of it quite quickly.

Mutley

PS my offer still stands:D :D

You could always move to Taiwan :eek

I dont ever remember setting up a home point specifically through the routing menu. The only thing I can think of is that I have created a waypoint (in the normal way) which is called "HOME".

Worth a try?

I have the Nav2, so it should be the same.
