I've used a Touratech one for about 12,000 miles on my 2013 model. Sometimes it's been stuffed to the brim with various "essentials" and it's never budged an inch. In fact I don't really even notice it's there.
When you want to remove it, undo two clips at the front and Velcro at the back and off it cones and can be turned into a rucksack. It's totally waterproof too.
The downside is it's not cheaphttp://shop.touratech.co.uk/tank-ba...rom-2013-bmw-r1200gs-adventure-from-2014.html

Thanks for the link. Just followed it and it says it comes with a rain cover. Are you saying its waterproof with the cover or that you have found it waterproof without the cover?

Has anybody got experience of a tank bag on their GS? Not sure if a bag that attaches to a tank pad or tank ring is better.
Do the bags on the ring fittings wobble and rattle about?

Used Baglux on all my bikes so that's over 100,000 miles and no probs other than bags no waterproof - need to use fitted cover. Used their tank harness and Alpha tank back on my previous 2 GSA's - job done. Cannot recommend BMW one as very expensive for what it is and quality poor as the transparent plastic top split just out of warranty not to mention small carrying capacity.
I've got a new givi quick lock on gsa, looks good holds enough stuff 20L comes with rain cover and has a cool little hole in the front to run a charge lead through, I've fitted cup holders to it tooall good
