Would appreciate any feed back regarding the best tank bag to use on GSA 1200 LC. I have a Wunderlich Elephant bag which is ok but the tank harness to mount the bag is a faff to fit ...... any opinions..

It depends on how big a tank bag you want or need

I had the BMW one which was pretty good but not terribly large

I am a convert to the SW Motech bags connection range

superbly made and just work

^^ I'll second that!

I have a SW Motech Yukon 90, which is fully waterproof, without needing rain cover etc... Its only 9L so an essentials like phone, keys, wallet, sarni & visor sort of stuff rather than fully kitted out luggage. But its waterproof, has a clear window at top for stuffing a map/phone. Got a bit nervous drilling through to add fitting ring, but seems to have worked. Stays off the tank when fitted so no scratching. nice bit of kit.

I love the BMW one but it's just too small for 2-up touring so I have the same as you. Only problem I have with it is the rain cover which always rises up and covers the gauges when moving fast:blast

I'm another convert to the SW Motech connector type. I've used a "large" BMW tankbag for euro trips for the last few years but find I only ever half fill it with random crap, it's a bit of a faff when fueling up and off the bike it's not the easiest for carrying around even with the shoulder strap.

I've gone with the ION 9L bag off ebay just to keep a few essentials in. The plan is to then just throw it in my rucksack when off the bike.

Fitting was dead easy and it feels like a nice quality bit of kit. Unfortunately not waterproof though so I might look at the Yukon.

Likewise on the SW Motech kit. I've got a 5L Daypack which is handy for sunglasses, keys, wallet, visor wipes etc. Rain cover does the job when needed.

Only just got the GSA so haven't bought the tank adapter for it yet, but served me well on the previous two bikes.

Another thumbs-up for the Bags Connection/SW-Motech quick-lock stuff. I'm using an older Daypack on my GS having used it on a couple of Triumphs before over an 8 year period. Mines got an add-on map case on the top, which is useful for sticking papers in and a credit card for those pesky French tolls.

I'll tell you when I'm back from holiday. Ride Magazine gave it the thumbs up in a recent test.

Im just looking for one and funnily enough was looking at the Wunderlich Elephant. The givi one is half the price though (if you go for the strap on option). I had a SW Motech GS Tank Bag, which was really good actually but quite expensive. Unfortunately i sold it a couple of years ago and begrudge buying another :D

The Wunderlich bag in 'Africa Corp' colours is on sale on NN website for £119.

Another vote for SW Motech. Much less hassle than bags with straps.

I have a small 5-9 litre bag for day trips and the large GS bag for touring :thumby:

I love the sw motech too.

Only gripes... Had the city bag but sold it because it's not fully waterproof.

Bought the Yukon 90 and it's very good but no carry handle, shoulder strap or small external pocket.

Either get the city bag and also purchase the waterproof inner bag which is on their site under accessories.( because waterproof covers are a pain)

Or get the Yukon and stick a small Velcro pouch on the front for toll money etc.

All very well made bags tho.

SW Motech for me. Daypack ideal for odds and sods plus powered from socket on handlebars means phone and camera battery charged as well.

Just bought the ST602... 4L great for keys, passport, sunglasses wallet etc and has a cable port to charge your phone/iPad/Camera etc.

Previous thread showed a GSA with a white/silver Bagster tank cover and a BMW GS tank bag /harness. The Bagster tank cover has attachments for their range of tank bags which fit a wide range of tanks and are not shaped particularly for the GS / GSA tanks.
Had the Bagster package on an FJR and was happy with it but it had a reasonably flat tank.
Has anyone fitted the the complete Bagster package? And if so does the bag sit ok?

Thats the one. Lovely picture at the top. That's not Malta or Gozo I'm sure. :)

Love the tank cover. Trying to ascertain if the Bagster bag will fit right over the tank hump.
