Tank Filler Mod?

Someone on this forum posted info. on removing the inner tube from the tank filler. I can't for the life of me find the thread. However, I removed the ring of screws fixing the filler top to the tank and the filler assembly moves a bit but refuses to come out of the tank to enable me to remove the inner tube.
Can someone tell me how to get the filler assembly out of the tank please?

Thanks. Guess who tried to do it without lifting off the tank cover.

Inner filler tube removed. It was quite a simple and quick job. The correct size Torx head tool is under the pillion seat.
