Can anyone answer this,
I have a gs1150 and would like to put an adv tank on, is this easily done?
Will the internals fit the adv tank?
and do i need a new fromt beak, or does the adv tank line up perfectly with the original/
how much would a good tank cost.
Anyone want a swap?

Will the internals fit the adv tank? Yes again, but you will need some extra external fuel pipes for the ADV tank
and do i need a new fromt beak, or does the adv tank line up perfectly with the original/ Your beak will be alright.
how much would a good tank cost. Lots, and they seem pretty hard to get.
Anyone want a swap?

Hope that helps. :)

Easily done. :) Everything lines up. I used to swap between 21 and 31 litre tanks regularly but then I got internals for both. Now have 41 lt Touratoss jobbie for touring and 21 litre for offroading. 31 lt needs a balance pipe and quick release fuel clips. If you buy these from BMW the total cost is £50 or less than half that if you go anywhere else.

I think you need different fuel pick up in bigger tank to give more accurate fuel gauge figures but I didn't bother on 31 lt.

As for cost it is difficult call. I sold mint 31 lt Adv SE tank for £375 including free 100 mile delivery and got accused of ripping people people off by the fat pony-tailed one. Others have gone for over £400 but can be much cheaper if you are prepared to accept one needing repairs eg a accident damaged one.

Hope this helps.

Tanks guys yes very helpful indeed.
Slightly damaged would be ok. Going to Morrocco next april so plenty of time to get one.
Thanks again lads.
